Would be grate if you guys could impliment a small tool to AI war that lets you customize your own ships a little bit more. Like the system they got in dawn of war 2

Dawn of war 2 is a 3D game, and you're altering textures on a 3D model.  AI War is a 2D game, and so the textures are the ships.  However, all the images can be found in RuntimeData/Images in the PNG format, so you can change them as much as you like.

And I myself spend so much time zoomed out or in the galaxy map for its not interesting :)

However you change some colors on them with player color selection ;)

My issue with colour customisation is that even if you take a non-blue, possibly even red colour, hostile objects in the sidebar will still be coloured red, and yours will still be blue. If Sidebar items would show player colours instead of standard red/blue, now that'd be neat. Although minor faction colours might be iffy.

Well, the problem comes in with allies, same as minor factions.  It's really important to keep that space to a minimum there.  And since any color can be used for the good guys and bad guys (you can select red and green for enemies, and then be purple yourself), there's not a way to really collapse the colors into a tri-state selection in any meaningful way other than just having it always be the same.

Personally I play as red myself, if it makes you feel any better. ;)

I like Orange, but I keep mistaking my ships for hostiles and vice versa because I spend too much time staring at the damned sidebar :/

That's why I always pick blue for my own ships & red & orange for the AI's. Cuts down on lots of confusion.

But, thinking about it...why not have a colour selection menu in which the player can freely choose colours for AI1, AI2, minorfaction1, minorfaction2, AlliesInGeneral, EnemiesInGeneral or somesuch?
