Community DLC Suggestion Poll: Week of 5/16/10
« on: May 17, 2010, 06:15:56 am »
Community DLC voting for the week is now underway!

The nominations that receive high amounts of votes will receive higher consideration to be DLC in the near future. If a particular piece of content is likely to be out-of-scope for the near future, it will be kept on a list of content we would like to see in the next expansion (Q4 '10). Please note that we may not know whether or not a suggestion will need to be shelved until after the voting.  Also bear in mind that this is Chris/x4000's game and inclusion of any content is ultimately his decision!

The voting will last one week. The next nomination topic will begin on the 23rd.

Thanks for your participation!

Why talk about the person who nominated it when its more important who created the idea in the first place?  Seriously, that's like naming some dude Joe Below for nominating a politician.  Silly.

Only reason to change it is to not have it look like superking managed to sneak in two nominations.  :P

If you guys like, I can stop including the nominator with the poll entries. Shouldnt take too long to chop them off once I'm done compiling the poll.

I think it's interesting to see who nominated what, personally. Having the nominator listed with the poll entries makes that easier than flipping back and forth between the nomination thread and the poll thread.

I'm not particularly bothered either way, but some seem to have strong feelings about it.

It's an internet forum. Some serious business has to show up once in awhile, I suppose.  :D

The only important thing to me is that we stick to the formula for the polls, and that it doesnt take an unreasonable amount of time to compile them. I just looked at the results topic though, and we may have to do something different here pretty soon, like a "pick a winner from the winners" week, so that Keith and Chris have some time to catch up.

I think it's going ok; there's only 5 items on the won-and-approved-for-near-future-but-not-started list, 4 on the recently-done-but-still-needs-testing list, and 13 on the done list.  Considering this is the 9th poll I wouldn't say that's a terribly long backlog with Tidalis being the main programming effort right now ;)

We're going to be trying for an official in the next week or so to get a fix for the desync stuff out, so I won't be able to do anything terribly crazy until after that.  But it's helpful to have some kind of list of dlc-poll winners for when I have time (and for the upcoming micro-expansion).

But handle the polls however y'all want to :)

internet forum is random fact gathering, so both are super kings nominations, and both superking nominated? or is it superking nominated 1 and another nominated the other superking idea, either way it's cool 8)

Does it really matter who nominated them?  I do not see why it should bother anyone (yourself included) that Superking has 2 suggestions up to vote.  Both ideas are good for Ai War.  Regardless of how they got on the polling list.

If Superking did indeed nominate both, so what?  (I am not saying he did.)  I believe its up to the Forum people here to decide whether they are valid enough to be put into the game or not.  Democracy at work.

This whole discussion is rather silly and should not be a big deal.  Its not a popularity contest, it is not a race to see how many people got the most ideas in.  If it benefits the core game and enhances the experience, we all win.  Regardless of who made the idea or suggested it.  And last I checked, we are not paid for these suggestions so the true benefactor is Arcen Games.

My 2 Cents.

Anywho, back to the poll.  Before the evil mods come in and go rawr!   ;) ;) :P
