Definitely a good week! Obviously, the screenshot function has already been added at this stage.
For the carriers, I agree that should be a fun choice, but it requires a substantial amount of art (new carrier graphics, as well as bomber/etc) graphics, that I'm not keen to pull Phil away from Tidalis for at the moment. Basically, the endgame stuff, plus the epilogue stuff, is going to be a big focus for AI War on the next month (largely minus me, because I
really have to get more done on Tidalis and stop letting AI War distract me to quite the same degree). And I suspect there will be some art needs with those new endgame scenarios, which I'd rather save any "Phil AI War time" for. Endgame stuff wasn't in this poll, but I think it's clear that the community feels pretty strongly about that based on the response in the subforum for discussing it, and it's also something that I personally think is more important than adding yet another starship for the time being. But, the fact that carriers were popular has not fallen on deaf ears; after we go through all the stuff with the endgame scenarios, which I imagine could take a few months, then carriers might be a good fit around that time.
For the "overkilling OK" thing, I think that's a good tweak and I made a note to Keith to look at that soon.
Personally, I also think that Heavy Turrets are a super good idea. Those fill much more of an empty niche compared to carriers, I think. Those will be a bit of a challenge to balance, I'm sure, but I think it will be worth it. Main challenge at the moment, again, is lack of art. I can only pull Phil off of Tidalis so much without completely derailing that project, and I still think that the endgame stuff is more pressing than heavy turrets, despite how cool heavy turrets are. There is various user-submitted art around the forums here; if there is anything that could work for a base heavy turret, I could make mark I/II/III variants myself. But I'm not sure what is here at the moment, so if there's nothing around it will probably be a few months on this one, too, simply due to staff workload (Phil in this case).
