Wow, that's impressive. Yes, that does mean I've never played Nexus.
I wasn't refering to space sims when I said there was too much, I was referring to RTS. Perhaps this is odd for the creator of a space RTS game to say, but I've just never been too into space sims before. I used to really like Star Control and such back in the day, and I really liked Tyrian (parts of which were in space), plus a handful of other games (and a lot of action games, like Descent/Descent:Freespace and the Star Wars games), but otherwise I've tended to gravitate more to the earthbound stuff. I guess it isn't really a strong preference one way or another, I play the games that grab me. Part of the reason why I put AI War in space was that I was getting a little tired of all the land/sea/air RTS games, and I had always wanted a space-based RTS but never found one that matched the sort of feel that I wanted. Hence, AI War filled a personal niche for me that nothing else I had tried had filled.
