I've done the minor changes.

"ökonomisch" --> "wirtschaftlich" sounds much better now.

Where did you find "Ökonomischen Schiffen (ÖKO)" ?

In the main.xml (simply search for ÖKO), we could use WRT there as the button text or WIRT.

(...)

I don't want to edit the main.xml, because others are working on it.
Maybe someone of them could do this.

I've used WRT btw ;)

Regarding the buttons for OK, Cancel, Save, etc -- the new version 3.017, which I will push out in just the next hour or so, has larger sizing so that hopefully you don't have to abbreviate too much.  I am not sure if that is what you are referring to or not here, though.

Okay, here is a new version with a variety of sizing changes that should make the German localization of buttons fit and be more readable, etc:  http://arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,3515.msg22680.html#msg22680

Thanks!  And let me know if you see anything else that is majorly not fitting, etc.

So, tomorrow is the day I have to give this back to the German publisher... is everyone happy with these as they are?

EDIT:  Given that I think some areas have not really been covered as much as they ideally should be for quality, and that I don't want to rush anyone, I'm asking the publisher for a bit more time.  I am uncomfortable with rushing to manufacturing at the expense of quality.

Just did a massive load of fixes and tweaks  ;D

Will post the changes in a bit.

The text on the group/lone and unload button won't center correctly btw.

Oh, where is the reset-button used? I can't find it right now. I think that might need shortening as well.

The main issue in ships.xml i the line breaks thing right now - since that makes it completely unreadable ingame for the tooltips of many ships.  I am reluctant to add those myself, since I suspect there are logical break points that I can't see given that I don't know German.  That's how I handled it in English, rather than just wrapping a certain number of characters, anyway.

Tutorial 3 is finished - should be ok.

I am looking over the ship.xml.

..I think akronia already went over it?

I'm asking the publisher for a bit more time.

I quit my work on this because I currently don't have much time except on the weekend. If you can buy some time I think I'll take another look at the files.

Is there already a date so I know when to force my friends to buy AI War once it's out? :)

Should be in February/March, but there is not an exact date yet.  Still working on that.  Thanks for all your help with it!

I'd buy it if I didn't already own it. Can't I just get a retail game without a CD Key at a reduced price? ;D

If it were up to me, no problem, but there is the publisher and the distributor which are involved in that end of things, and I don't have much clout with them, unfortunately. :/

Ship-file is attached. I corrected quite a bit of stuff, but to get all line breaks right will be complicated.

First, I thought it would be easy ...until I noted the score window in the lower right corner. It really takes away a lot of space, Its pretty large and probably overlaps with quite a few descriptions, but to be sure, I would have to actually built all of the stuff... (if you check on the research tab, for example, the description text is higher, so the score-table is no problem).

Also attached again is the tutorialsteps.xml. I roughly went over the intermediate tutorial and suggested some line breaks. However, I did not play the tutorial, so this definitely! needs some tuning.

I fear that this was the final part of my contribution as well - I am going on a longer ship cruise on monday and have to prepare some stuff before.

Good Luck with the further localization!

Many thanks for your help!

For testing the ship line breaks for anyone who is interested, all you have to do is use the F1 keys.  As long as it keeps to within just about an inch of extra width beyond the ability text at most, it will fit just fine elsewhere.  I can always go through and add those line breaks myself if I need to, but it won't be quite as sensible as if a German speaker does it.

I'm not sure how I should approach the line-breaks... what exactly is the goal here?

Make it look good at 1024x768, so everything fits nicely?

I think I was going for about 600-700 pixels wide in most cases with the English versions.  In other words, from the left of the screen to the right end of the buttons row -- never past that if possible.  I can take care of it if you think it wouldn't make a difference, but whatever makes sense.  I told the original (publisher-hired) translators to keep it to the same line lengths that I had in the original, but that didn't work out. Sigh.
