well, if we can't buy ship cap, how about we buy ai progress? 10,000 metal and crystal for every XX ( i presume 5 ) ai progress ;D

not useful for people who have a big ai jump every few minutes

Only useful for the players that already have it easy then?

I think it would lead to the AIP being taken to lightly.  If you play dumb and get the AIP to high, you just turtle and buy it back down to 10 before you venture out again.

Not necessarily, i suggested being able to "leak intel" a little ways back that would cause you to have to endure waves in exchange for AIP drop, and it would give you diminishing returns the more you used it.
Avid League player and apparently back from the dead!

If we weren't going for your money, you wouldn't have gotten as much value for it!

Oh, wait... *causation loop detonates*

Superterminals do something like this. While under your control, they spawn AI waves, but you have decreasing AI progress (though the floor increases as you use it).

That's more interesting that buying a decrease.

I don't like the idea of buying off ai progress even if it would be useful to help knock down the overall progress or simply to get yourself out of a pinch if you are right at the point it is about to go to a higher mark level. What does sound good though would be a 'virus' ship you have to unlock that has to hack into a data center or ai controlled command station to knock the aip back a certain amount. Like what was proposed in the previous posts it would need to have a stiff penalty of some sort to keep players from simply building them enmass and taking over every system on the map.

I took this to actually mean buying more AIP points for myself. Getting my aip high enough to force ships to trickle to me, instead of roaming aroudn their planets? sign me up. telling the ai to get angry is tedious.

Turn up the difficulty.

Probably easier to just massively increase the AI Progress increase over time. You'll hit your required AI Progress roof a lot faster that way. Of course, this also means you'll overshoot it by way too much a couple hours afterwards.

Why not make a new AI-Mode where you have to take al systems from the AI befor there Homestation gets destroyabel ?

Parhaps some new Awards for 60/80/100/120 Planet systems with both AI'S in that mode and for only 1 AI in that mode.

Then you have to take all the AI systems then you have your high AI Progress :) and a Ai who is ealy mad at you :)

And A AI who spans all Rinforsments in one system so you better get it quick ^^ + then a Avanger AI and you shoud have fun trying to kill the second AI, When you then have to low AI Progress .... you shoud turn the auto Progress up.

I think that totally ruins the game, since it's designed around NOT capturing everything and that's supposed to make this game special.

I haven't tried, but they say that you're doomed for sure if you try to take all systems.

An own AI-class for this doesn't sound good to me, because you could end up with it as a random AI without choosing to, but if you want that challenge, you can still have it! Just force yourself to not attack the home stations until you captured everything else. Achievements for this could also be implemented. What do you think Tusoalsob ?

This reminds me of tower defense challenges, set up by players themselves. They tried to defend their home as long as possible against tough, aggressive AI's and on a system with lots of wormholes. They competed who held out the longest, but in the end they all died^^

oh and btw: what does "floor" mean, reagrdin AIP. I also accept PMs  ;D

Foor is the lowest the AIP can ever go.

If the AIP gets really high, the floor will rise accordingly.  Thus, once you've had high AIP, you can never go back to 10 AIP, or less.

The specifics are on the wiki page.
