Border aggression annoys the hell out of me

It's not that hard to deal with. But you know what the problem is? It's the endless sound. The entire game I hear enemy ships and my turrets getting blasted while I'm focused on another planet. Then it starts all over again in a few minutes. It's the same trickle of enemies each time.

This game was more annoying than usual -- each wave seems to have a Spire Stealth Battleship and I didn't realize until 10 hours into the game that it lowered the range of my turrets. I wasn't killing it quickly enough. So the turrets kept going down until they finally beat this one ship back. Over and over.

Can we do anything here? Has this been debated endlessly already? Sorry if I missed the boat, but it's probably the last big grind/annoyance I have with the game right now. Maybe we don't need to throw the baby out, just keep that ship type out of border sorties. If anyone agrees with me I can add something to the tracker.

Battleships have been altered somewhat to help out with this. Their range has been reduced so turrets can shoot back despite the dampening. Try bunching up your turrets, so the battleships have to engage a group of turrets, not just one at a time.  Spirebattle ships certainly require some adjustments in defenses to get used to.

As for the sounds, I may just turn them off eventually. As you said, I mainly hear units dying lately, simply because the galaxy is a violent place today. I mean it was violent in the past, but Light of Spire seems to have taken it to 11.

Life is short. Have fun.
