Beta customers for VotM expansion: check your email!

Hey all,

If you ordered Vengeance of the Machine from us during the beta period, you got installers that did not include any of the new music for the game (which was still being composed).  As the game is now out, we're sending everyone who ordered it a one-time email with the updated installers that include the music.

If you've ordered the game from us within the last couple of hours or anytime from now into the future, the downloads you are getting already have the music, so no worries!  A quick test: if your VotM installers are less than 50MB, you don't have the music.

Anyway, this post is just for folks who might otherwise miss the email.

Awesome to hear that the new music is out.

I purchased and downloaded the game through indieroyal.com a while back when the bundle was still going, and it included the old sub-50MB installer. I just checked to see if there was an updated installer on there and there was not. Additionally, there was no option to download the old installer, and there was not a Steam key option either (I understand the game JUST released on Steam though).

Do you know if they're in the process of updating any of that?

I'm not sure why the installer disappeared from IndieRoyale; that's really bizzare, and I've heard that from someone other than you so it's not just you.  Can you check and see if the Desura copy of the expansion is working for you on there, if you don't mind?  In terms of the updated installer I've not actually sent that to them yet, as I wanted to also send them the steam keys at the same time.  I may have to just go ahead and send the installer first, though.

Installed Desura, downloaded AI War with no issues. Tried to download the Vengeance of the Machine expansion and recieved the following.

"Install Error: There are no available releases for you to play."

Okay, thanks for the update on that; that's what was happening before, too.  I've emailed the Desura folks about both of these things, and hopefully they will be taken care of shortly.

This new music is awesome. Pablo doesn't disappoint! It's 23:56 but I'm not gonna go sleep I've listened to all of this.

I ordered my download on last Friday night. My download was only 17.5 Mb. I think then that That does not include the music. Unfortunately I have not received an email. I originally purchased from the arcen store.

Kudos btw on the new expansion. Once again a sterling effort. I simply love the untangle function. It would be useful to have a bit more of a nudge though at the start since nodes sometimes get entangled and stuck. Either way I now really like realistic maps!!

Can't wait for the next expansion!!

Purchased Arclight bundle. Haven't received an email yet. I suppose you haven't emailed everyone yet, of course, so I'll wait.

What is the best thing for someone that already had the rest of AI and xpacs to install the new xpac via Steam?  I assume it is to wait for a key to be added to the Archlight bundle webpage?   I just don't want to screw up my install.

The steam version and the Arclight version are the same, so if you have a direct download link you can download Vengenace and just add it on top of your existing Steam install and start playing immediately. When you get a Steam key you can then plunk that in and it should work fine.

(I ran the alpha that way over my Steam install, so first hand experience. )

Whew, okay, to the common questions:


1. If you ordered from the Arcen store and have not received an email from us, then probably you used a different email address than you're thinking of, and/or had a misspelling.  Feel free to email arcengames at gmail dot com and we'll get you sorted with the proper installers.

2. If you ordered from the Arclight Bundle, hold tight -- we don't have your email address or any of that info anyhow, all that info is held by the IndieRoyale guys.  We've gotten them the updated installers, and you should see the new installers show up in your account as soon as they have time to put it up.

3. Regarding Steam Keys for the Arclight Bundle, we do not have any yet but should have some soon.  Once we do, then those will automatically be added to the IndieRoyale listing for your bundle; but again it takes time in transit each time.  Valve gets them to us, we get them to IndieRoyale, IndieRoyale adds them to your account.  I'd expect it to be a couple of days, sorry about that.

4. Regarding Steam Keys if you bought from our store, same note goes in terms of us not having them yet.  But in that case it will be a matter of if you want one, just shoot us an email with a proof of purchase (as with Ancient Shadows) and we'll send you one back.  We'll post when we have them.

Thanks Chris.  As someone who owns multiple copies of every Arcen game I am more than willing to be patient.  You guys rock.  Sure you guys already have this planned but any chance you can make a tweet when Arclight bundle on IndieRoyale has the keys?   

In the meantime I am still need to buy another key for my personal steam account.  I will let my daughter wait on the key from the bundle.
