How did you find out about AI War?

Tried Tunngle, it worked for a bit. Tunngle has a tendency to go down on us (at least it did back then) from time to time and so we switched to Comodo.

I might suggest going back to Tunngle, though, thanks for the suggestion.

I initially found AI War from the RPS article(s) mentioned earlier, didn't think about it for a while, got the demo, procrastinated, tried the demo, bought the game + expansions (around the time Spire was released) in a massive Steam sale, and now here I am.

Tunngle seems interesting, with a far more friendly (albeit still rough) interface compared to Comodo. I personally think the IRC channel is the best place to hang out, but that's more because I already regularly visit IRC channels anyways.
I think I'll hang around in the Tunngle channel for a while, and see how well it works.

I don't consider Tunngle useful for finding games, merely great for virtual LAN purposes.

There was an Ai War -thread on Bay12 (Dwarf Fortress) forums. I searched it on Steam and bought Ai War + all of its expansions. After that I have clocked 200+ hours on Ai War. I love this game, and I love the recent changes I never really used mines etc, but now they are so cheap that I have an excuse to do so.

I especially like how the difficulty is almost perfectly scalable, you get exactly as much challenge as you want.
