Autokite affects minor factions

Which leads to some weird behaviour in nebulae, not least is the grey spire actually winning without champion intervention.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Oops, haha, yea.  I think someone else reported this too, shouldn't be difficult to fix.

Though I'm not sure the gray spire in that particular scenario will think it's a fix.

You would think they would be using the tactic anyway, fighting for their life and all.
I kind of like having some way to influence the moronic allied commanders, though.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

You mean the scenario with the enemy dysons, right?  It might make sense tactically to let the stabases tank, but since the ships' primary goal is to protect the starbases the other behavior makes more sense from that perspective.

Granted, it's actually more effective to let the starbases tank so the ships can accumulate overwhelming dps without getting shot at, but the smart thing for the dysons to do then would be to fly around and pick off the ships, etc.  Or to pull back and wait until they have overwhelming numbers.  It'd be something of a behavioral arms race.

Oh, they didn't need to let the starbases tank. The small starbase ended at 97% health, and there were still about fifty GS ships left.

I think having the same scenarios play out in different ways because of different tactic selection would actually be a good thing; as it is, my champion does the same thing every time, and I never have to think like I did the first 1-2 times through.

Actually, I'm the one who originally reported it: 2671: Minor faction units auto-kite based on player settings

I really like that the longer ranged minor faction stuff will try to kite, even if they accidentally got this behavior because I set it.

If this is fixed, can some of the longer ranged minor faction ships get a auto-kite property on their ship type, like Z bombards and raptors?
