Build points, basically gives you an idea of how much progress it has made on its building project.  Generally this is only for constructors or self-building units, but also applies to zenith viral shredders replication.

i used engineers on a factory and it came up BP 15000?? so whats that equivelent to?

ok thanks for your help theres just one more problem i have ... how do you get the ship level and outline ? like the IV under the ships etc?? what is the keyboard shortcut to turn on?

I think you only get that if you zoom waaay far out. Kind of an unfortunate limitation of the close-in view.
