Rally Redirector Use
« on: September 08, 2014, 12:59:16 pm »
I use the mobile rally point a lot. I've read the description of the rally redirector and am confused. It says it can be used to arrange cross planet patrols (cross planet to me means from one to another, not from one point on one planet to a different point on the same planet).

How does one do this? I can't set a rally point for the redirector that is on another planet. So what am I misunderstanding here as to the capabilities (and the point of the whole redirector vs the regular one)?

Select the Rally Redirector (or factory) in Planet View, then switch to Galaxy View and right-click on the planet you want it to redirect to.

You can also ctrl-right-click on a wormhole to just send stuff through to the next planet (they'll ball-up on the wormhole there, unless there's a rally post).

Oohhhh you don't right click in the other planet's view! That's what I did wrong! Thank you!

That is also how you set a Rally point for your Space Dock to a distant planet. I actually don't use Rally Posts very often at all. In fact, the only thing I use them for is Reclaimed ships. If you check "Reclaimed ships Rally" in the Ctrl Settings and drop a Mobile Rally point, all the ships you reclaim will instantly fly to the Rally Post and sit there. Excellent for when you are capturing tasty targets (high Mark or ships you don't have access to) because otherwise they sit there and get destroyed by their former friends.

Well, that's clever! I'm going to try that.

If you use the Botnet Golem you can use Redirect Rally Posts to control the Zombies. You can gather a fleet of thousands of zombies and launch your own CPAs or use them for defense to stop AI attacks. They can also be used to control Dyson Gatlings and probably friendly enclaves too.

I'm afraid golems are still disabled in my games, too much basic stuff to learn but I'll keep your suggestion in mind as I advance! :)
