Is there a good way to clear minefields, apart from using a scout, chaff and cleanup drones ?

Decloaker, fleet (long ranged stuff but any will do) and cleanup drones.

Wait, has the AI started rebuilding things like minefields? I haven't played AI War for a while, but I've never used the Cleanup Drone.

drop a mk1 taychon warhead on the planet and send it your fleet (assuming you already dealt with guardposts, etc.)

Last time I checked AI minefields were leaving remains which would get rebuilt.
It was some time ago tho.

They used to, but I haven't noticed it anymore after the AI lost engineers (rebuilders?)

There was a thread just like this a while ago. See here. Hearteater and Keith recommended using fighters to clear mines by the facecheck method.

I was gonna say 'Neinzul Younglings' but all the player-buildable types seem to be immune to minefields. D'oh!
