The latest prerelease is available at http://www.arcengames.com/share/AIWar1999I.zip

That version is an upgrade from version 1.301, so you have to already have 1.301 (or greater) installed. Just unzip it into your game folder (usually C:\Program Files\Arcen Games\AI War\ unless you specified something else). Please make sure that your unzip process keeps the folder structure from the zip file, rather than just unpacking all of the files into the base target directory.

What's new since 1999H:
(Cumulative release notes since 1.301 are attached at the bottom)

-------------------

-In recent versions of the game, the "Killed With" column in the stats was not working right.  Now it works correctly, and it has been renamed to "Kills Made By."

-Warheads, Vampire Claws, and Vorticular Cutlasses no longer decelerate when reaching their targets, though they do still have to accelerate up to their maximum speed.

-The following ships now have 2X acceleration rate: Fighters, Bombers, Bulletproof, MicroFighter, Engineer I, Laser Gatling.

-The following ships now have 3X acceleration rate: Raiders, Vampires, Raptors, Scouts (except Mark IV), Space Tug, Electric Shuttle, Cutlass, EyeBot, Autocannon, Space Plane, EtherJet.

-Raptors are now the fastest ship in the game, with 148 move speed.  They also now have a large attack range of 9,000, and a minimum attack range of 4,000, which means they will automatically move out of range of most targets.  They also now cost significantly more metal and crystal than before.

-Raiders now cost far more than they previously did, to hopefully bring them back into balance with other ships.  Their bonus against bombers has also been removed.

-Starships and Turrets now all do 1/5 their normal damage to warheads.

-Ships that are not auto-targeted by player ships will no longer become preferred targets when players give orders to attack them.

-The "Stop Units" hotkey (end) now also clears the preferred target type.

-The "NOT YET COMPILED" strong/weak text has been changed to "INFORMATION UNAVAILABLE IN PRERELEASE VERSION."

-The excel exports now include ship acceleration rates, and also the internal damage multipliers used for each ship type.

-Blind ships no longer collision-detect with ships they cannot see.  This allows for lightning warheads to easily pop out of a wormhole and not move at all from the target location.

CHANGES FROM PRIOR VERSIONS
--------------

-Counter-Dark-Matter Turrets were still called Counter-Negative-Energy Turrets in the tech menu in the last prereleases.  Fixed.

-In the past prerelease, blind ships could not be sent through wormholes.  Fixed.

NEW ART - Philippe Chabot
--------------
Updated Electric Shuttle I, II, III, IV
Updated Raider I, II, III, IV
Update Space Dock
Updated Game Logo

End of RaiderBlitz. I won't post an update on how extremely unbalanced the game was becoming after 2.5 hours then :)

Now for my next trick.....mmmm....speed 148, long range and cloaked.....there must be something one can do with Raptors now? Then again, they were awfully weak before. Time for more thought  8)

Yeah, I was noticing just how unremarkable Raptors were in recent versions, so thought that it might be a good time to make them more fearsome, too.

148 speed??? yaye, now nearly twice as annoying as autocannon minipods. :-)  (at least /they/ hardly do any damage to most ships)

It's been a while so we'll have to see how this turns out.

Oh, and i haven't verified this 100%, but i believe that bullets/missiles/ etc that are traveling towards a ship who then cloak always seem to do the "miss" animation.  With another super fast cloaking ship, this might become more of an issue.

Three times!

Yes, shots miss if a ship recloaks.  We'll have to see how this plays out in practice, but basically spider turrets might be a really good idea with these guys, for instance.
