They're core (mk V) ships, so yes, they're immune to the devourer.

On a somewhat related note, are they imune to the dysons as well? the AI hoards Arachninds on some planets with dysons, and the dysons do not kill em.

Dysons have the same "can't shoot core ships" flag.  Basically as originally implemented both the dysons and the devourer could do a serious number on AI core worlds, so they were artificially made to not do so.

It would be interesting to have an alternate scenario where these restrictions did not apply and was balanced such that the human players had to rely on these other factions damaging each other in order to make headway.  But that's another tale ;)
