I have a Teufel 5.1 System
the incoming wave sound has 0 alertness to it, i commonly mistake for a background sound and when music players i NEVER hear it, or notice it.. one of the both.
Though it doesn't help i have "effects" and "music" muted, because 2400 ships firing all at once.. hurts my ears (and music.. well i have my own ,p)
Notice that this is why i wanted Interface sounds separate from Unit Effects
But i do agree that the sound attached in OT is MUCH better than the original one. At least it really emits a tone of alertness..
Generally the sound of AI War is the one thing that really needs a re-work (Not the music) - There especially needs to be some kind of "sound grouping" so that 50 bombers don't produce 50 separate shot sounds, but 1 sound of a "large fleet of bombers firing" that way it wouldn't be soo cluttered.
May be better to do this as a suggestion..
