Anyway, there are actually 2 (theoretically 4) equally "optimal" orders  for the first 5 reactors:

If you prefer the highest output first, then:
2, 1, 3, 1, 2

If you prefer the lowest output first (and thus lowest overall resource cost), then:
2, 1, 1, 3, 1

those are after you build the initial 1 of each? or include??

I am unsure what you mean by that question.

I was closer, But I didn't know about the 10% Cap.

so you did all the math right, except for not taking into account the floor?
See my edit above if you missed it ;)
Correct.

That's for the first 5 reactors on a planet.

Oh wow, I had no idea those orders existed, I've just been building one of each. I need to rework a lot of things then.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Actually it's much better if you don't need more than one of each, this is only if your territory is too small to normally support your fleet.

oh, dont forget the keybinding that lets you deactivate the most inefficient and then activate the most efficient power plants. I have it so that i hit the tild key (the key to the left of the one) to deactivate the most inefficient power plant and left-alt+tild to activate the most efficient deactivated plant, its VERY handy cause i dont have to hop around to all my planets to manage the power plants directly!! (last page of in game keys).

Just make sure you don't have a zenith power generator under construction, (unless that bug was fixed)

Also, I used to just use the bottom list menu for toggling the generators, but the hotkey method is much easier.

crazy easy, I love it. Now i just need a hotkey to toggle the pause all constructors option in ctrl and I'm good to go ;).

Oops, right, you did report that and I just hadn't gotten to it yet.  Just put in a fix for 5.015 so those two keybinds won't look at reactors that are still under construction.

Bah, I'll never remember that. Give me a closed form expression for whichReactor(n)  :)
