Quick question. I want to do a full clean install of the game, as I understand that the patches are not designed to remove files that are no longer used/needed. (IE the extra planet pictures that are not used anymore) Will the new installers be updated to.... Wait...

Given that its spread out over 1 base game and 5 different expansions, is it even possible to do a full install that doesn't have any unneeded files anymore?

Are we going to get a Steam Key for Vengeance of the Machines?

@Zane: Yep!

Bear in mind you won't save much if any disk space with a clean install, though. In almost all cases we replace "files to delete" with 0-byte empty files to overwrite them. I'm sure there are a few we missed, but we're talking ten or twenty mb at absolute most.

Anyhow, just reinstalling from the 7.0 installer and then the various latest versions of the expansion installers (most do not change over time, so are several years old) will do it.

@solid: If you are an alpha or beta player for votm, then yes. We don't have them yet, though.

VotM is now for sale on Steam, and the full Ai War bundle is on sale. Good time to get in on it for people who don't already own!

FYI the steam rollout is a bit of a work in progress still; we're still working on getting the keys for the alpha and beta players.

Oh, also, there seems to be a problem with the Collection package in that it doesn't look like it includes Ancient Shadows.  It definitely should, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Less of a save disk space thing than it is a CDO thing. Final question. For the VotM expansion, the link I was given as a alpha tester is the same one I would continue to use yes? Or is another link being sent to me over email? If its over email, I would request that you do NOT send it to me in my email right now. One of my email accounts got hacked and the other hasn't been secured yet. Can't say off the top of my head which I used for this forum account. So until I get it that resolved I wouldn't send anything to my email.

Ah, ok.  I was planning to just PM it to you, though that would be echo'd to your email account in most cases.  The plan is to just send steam keys, and turn off the link you used for the alpha.  If you want a redownloadable solution that isn't steam we can work something out, but steam seemed like the best default-case approach.

I've let Valve know, and I presume they can fix that for anyone who orders it without AS in there.

Unfortunately no, Gamestop has opted not to continue their relationship with Arcen any further, aside from servicing past releases.  I don't particularly know why, although it sounds like they pared down their list of indies significantly.
