Victory! The Teuthida/CoreFF took about 2 hours to bring down, but it was smooth sailing after that. 17,571 Planes built in total.
Space Planes need a good whack with a nerfbat. I was able to completely ignore the 2x Wrath Lance on the first HW, the Teuthida railcannons don't work and the drones don't do the x10 splash, the rest of the core posts also do nothing, and they clear normal planets like... say pre-nerf Maws. Also a huge pain in waves (that might only apply to higher difficulties, though).

Not my planes!  :'(

Seriously, Space Planes are on the borderline op list if you can micro them properly.  Otherwise, they die horrible deaths.  That said, 17,571 is a LOT of any ship...wonder how other ships types would fare.
My other bonus ship is a TARDIS.

That was only about 4,000 after the first HW, but that one post >.< 17,151 is, interestingly, almost exactly 100 caps. Don't think any other ship could top that (maybe Blade Spawners, but one grav guardian under a FF and you have to reach for a warhead)
Oh, did I mention that Planes can also kill fortresses with impunity? Yeah, nothing's broken here, move on  :)

Yes. Space planes "pwn" stationary defenses; that was their intention.

As noted, against a mobile fleet, you start seeming them drop in effectiveness rather sharply.

With micro they are just as good against a mobile fleet. The only things that could touch them in my game were the Teuthida drones and blade spawners. I guess if I had any other units, I wouldn't be able to micro them as much, but from what I've seen here you might as well not bother with other units  :)

Honestly...any ship in those numbers are going to destroy everything :P 4000-17000 is hardly a balance point ;)

No ship cap violations here  :) That would be too easy.

I did my run with teleporting battle stations.  I actually lost because a raid starship flew past my defenses and started hitting my home command station.  I quick-built some sniper turrets, which killed it....at the same time it killed my home station.

All in all I lost about 15 teleporting stations (I run low cap / epic).  The only things even moderately dangerous were plasma siege starships, maws (lost 0 units to the maw, but if it hadn't decided to fly around friendly space where I could build turrets, I'd have lost all 15), and spire blade spawners (due to range and raw damage; once targetted they fell over like paper in a light breeze).

oh I thought just build 1 military ship and win with it, not build unlimited ships of that 1 ship type. It's still possible probably, but only with a champion.
Can you build higher marks too for this challenge or just mark 1? I don't feel like trying it, but I'm curious. I kinda already did try this a long time ago though. 10/10 dif with laser gatlings only. 15 planets and started with 12 homeworlds. I didn't finish the game but the gatlings did destroy the first AI homeworld given long enough time. That was before warp jammer command upgrades so now it might actually work.
I had to keep my gatlings at around 4000 otherwise my game would lag :/

You can build higher marks all you want. Adding the "More more more" cheat is just to make it a silly way to screw around. I didn't expect people to legitimately take it as a challenge run, but apparently it's possible to have some success monobattling against the AI.
