Over on Indie Game Reviewer Keram has taken the time to check out and give his thoughts on AI War's recently released Light of the Spire expansion.

Some of the more tasty bits:

"This latest entry brings with it a healthy variety of new content and  features, most notably the campaign modes, while staying true to the  core experience...Even without the expansion sets, AI War is the type of game one never truly masters...Here, the concept of “casual” cowers in fear."

ROFL.  :D So true.

Although I don't think that games that are appealing to casual and serious gamers alike are mutually exclusive, I do appreciate it when they are willing to focus on one audience (in this case, the serious gamers) without making compromises to try to "appease" the other audiance. I'm not saying that all games should try to target only one section of the market (and even defining what is the casual or the serious sections of the market is a tricky proposition), but it is nice to see some games designed with only one group in mind. That's one of the reasons I like AI war so much, appealing to the "casual gamer" is not enough of a reason alone for you guys to reduce depth or complexity of the game.
