ai Core force feilds
« on: September 23, 2010, 12:20:51 am »
well at the look at them they are very hard to defeat especially when u are in 10 planets where it either defense and nukes & warheads or offense. they are immune to emp so disabling them wont work and bombers are going to die if it has high amount of units and there mostly core so nuking em wont work :D. one finale word is this worth it if you are low on e com after you do so would with trader ticked would purchasing an shield inhibitor would that disable the core force fields as they are different type force field or wont work for some reason. also what happen to mark 4 force field where did that go D: there 1,2,3,5 D:
AI War - even the smallest units can make all the difference no matter how weak they are still quite capable of taking the hits. if it can Kill and receive damage then it worth its time other wise if it cant kill and cant take the damage for the higher surviving ships then it is worthless.

*shrug* ignore them. The core station has less hp than a guard post, so just drop as many forcefield immune ships as you can on them. Raid starships are good for this (took down most of a home system with a diversion and 3 mk3 raid starships, incl. home station, under 2 core ffs)

Thirded on the use of Raid Starships.  :) Probably my favorite starship.
Time to roll out another ball of death.

You just blew my mind. Unfortunately, I have genetics homework...I'll think about the conspiracy later.

-you could also consider luring the core ships away with decoys of some sort (fighters and other low cost ships or high survivability ships work great for this)
-destroy the command center (if possible and wanting to, things to shoot through force fields might be needed like raiders)
-covering your ships with force fields, MRSs, engineers, and decoys could increase the survivability of your bombers to fully destroy your target

of random note, would there ever be an attribute along the lines of 'immune to immune to forcefields'? basically saying, even forcefield immune ships have to deal with it..

Except of course, scouts, who will probably get immune to immune to immune to forcefields...  ;D
