.055 seems to be working.
Ah, but what about 7.056? ;)
Didn't have a fix for something I reported so I'm not entirely sure what was wrong and fixed??

I try not to comment on stuff and I don't have any ideas on what was wrong with the context menus.
I meant whether or not the update actually happened properly :)  What you said earlier seemed to imply so, but I wasn't trusting implications when the update process has managed to fail for some players for (iirc) most of the last 8 updates.

Anyway, sounds like it's on better footing now :)
Ah.  I already mentioned that .056 updated ok (reply 83).  I was providing a running commentary since Chris mentioned a fix.

"Hey!!!"
"What?"
"It's broke"
"What? Lemme see"
"See, it's broke"
"Gimme a minute"
~minute~
"Fixed it"
"Checking"
~After check~
"Hey"
"What?"
"It's still broke"
"WHAT??!!"
"It went halfway and quit again"
"Damn it"
~Angry crashing and banging~
"ARRRRGGGGG"
"Hey it works now"
"I KNOW.  I FIXED IT."
"Btw, Fix xyz seems to be working"

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

New or possibly old bug: carriers can unload when paralyzed (by an EMP warhead). The unloaded ships are fully armed and operational.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Version 7.057 now out: http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_Current_Post-7.000_Beta#Prerelease_7.057

This should lead to some rendering speed improvements under load in general, particularly on multithreaded machines.  This is also an attempt to help fix a black screen issue on certain linux installs: http://steamcommunity.com/app/40400/discussions/0/828933455525361319/#p3

There is a chance -- not a super high one, but a chance -- that this might impact the textboxes thing in a positive way.  Which I haven't heard one bit at all about, by the way. ;)  Is anyone still having that issue, or no?

For the text box no it seems to work better now at times it will not let you past items in but that rarely happens now. :)

Yep, I see it on the title screen, hiding behind the version number and the steamworks text.

It is also on the screen when you start or load a game as well.

Was just trying to test textboxes in my steam copy, and I see that error message too.  Both on the menu (hiding under that text) and in-game (under the resource bar, to the right of the alert box)

On the textboxes, the remaining bugginess I'm seeing is reproduced by:

1) Start a new game
2) Press enter, chat box pops up looking normal with the cursor blinking in it
3) Type a line, press enter to submit it
4) While that line is still displayed in the upper left, press enter, chat box pops up looking normal with the cursor blinking in it
5) But typing does not put any text in the box; first you have to click the textbox and then you can type
6) But then it's highlighted like a button rather than a textbox, though all typing and backspacing works as I'd expect so this particular point appears to be purely cosmetic

Sweet!  What were your symptoms before?

That was my bad, I forgot to push a pair of images.  It is now out as 7.058.  Sorry about that!

Okay, I still can't duplicate that one, and never have been.

I think that the solution to that one is going to have to be brute force:

1. When the chat box opens, it draws the chat box way expanded (like in the Valley games).

2. It also does so with no scrollbar, and no possibility of one.  Basically, a list of labels and no scrolling area at all.  If you need to scroll, you're just SOL. ;)

That's the only fix that I can think of to this problem, at this point.  From tests with other folks, it seems like if there is a scrolling area at all visible, then the textboxes are wonky for some people.

Oh -- the other alternative, probably a better one, is to implement our fake scrolling areas for that control type, so that it is definitely never present at all when the textboxes are trying to show.  That would only be used on the chat box and message log, ideally.  That has the disadvantage of having to fade out the text as it scrolls, though, as in the other games.  Which either looks less clean or takes up more room vertically or both.

What OS?  I was having trouble a while back with no pasting working in OSX at all, but more recently (since updates) I think it was working.  The pasting wasn't working in the old versions of unity (3.3).

Sorry its working now I must not had text in the clipboard sorry about that! I am using windows seven, but I got it working now, all I had to do was click the box and past it in.

Edit: sometimes I do not have to click the box to past in text and some times I do.

As someone who typically uses multiple HWs (although on Ultra-low caps), I wish to specifically say:

"Thank you."

"Thank you."

And "Thank you!"

Edit: My game says 7.058, but I don't see anything about any release post 7.057...?
