I didn't think a 10 planet map will spawn 9 nebulas, but yeah, even if it does you won't be able to get to them all.  I turned on Partial Fog of War *just* so I could make sure that all 9 nebulas were accessible before the HW assaults.

Also, if you start with 8 planets on a 10 planet map, *all* the capturables will be on AI homeworlds.  It might be better to do 7 homeworlds and reroll until there's a core world with a massive pile of capturables between you and the homeworlds.  Snake map, obviously.  That would let you get some Golems/Spirecraft before tackling an AI homeworld.

If the 'no waves' modifier is allowed for double godlike, I guess the easiest AI opponent type would be... Mad Bomber, since it gets the least defenses/reinforcements?  Never thought I'd see 'Mad Bomber' and 'easiest' in the same sentence together.

I don't know if it does, I haven't poked that wasp nest since pre-4.0 :)

Update: 7.022 hotfix for a memory leak (that could cause out-of-mem situations) and a rare null-pointer exception (which isn't at all new, just now reported where I saw it).

friendly reminder (I am not the one who discovered this)

Exos can get swallowers even if swallowers are disabled.

Insanity and wanting to win need not be mutually exclusive. ;)

I didn't think of taking 8 homeworlds on a 10 planet map.  That's mutually exclusive with a lot of the other cheese, but if this goes poorly I may give that a shot next.  If the 'no waves' modifier is allowed for double godlike, I guess the easiest AI opponent type would be... Mad Bomber, since it gets the least defenses/reinforcements?  Never thought I'd see 'Mad Bomber' and 'easiest' in the same sentence together.

Neinzul Youngster also gets less defensive structures + less reinforcements. (At least according to the description)  It also gets bonus ship types that it does not deploy as reinforcements

The alt-champ intensities look good. I'm one of the apparently few that's happy to do nebulae, but a lesser option is nice to have.

Bumping the translocator down an asteroid level sounds like a good idea.

I also like the sound of exponential combat spirecraft scaling. I think quadratic would be too much, though.

But the poor armored golem: something, something please. Vampirism? Self-regen? Whatever health increase can still be squeezed out? Something special (double armor, deploy tough decoy drones)? It's usually not worth it to capture one, even when I'm already paying the full exo cost.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

I'm planning to bump its health from 500M to 800M and maybe give it 50% more DPS on top of what it has now.  That may be too much, but we'll see.

Sounds good.

I seriously doubt it. In fact, my concern goes the other way.

]Well, they are also missing the hundreds of ultra-powerful starship-like Nebula ships, which is a huge loss itself.  A 9-nebula set of those is usually enough to mostly destroy an AI HW.

The idea is that the Alt option will now give you those as well. Still, given that it sounds like its going to be a scaled 1/10 - 10/10 setting, i dont see a issue. I would assume that 10/10 will give the exact same level of rewards that Nebula give, and with the exact same response, while 1/10 is just "And you get a  (random) champion". Any chance you can give clues as to what the other settings will be like?

Probably because he isn't insane, and is going into this with the intention of winning as compared to my 'I wonder what happens if ...'.

If you rreally want to win though, you do a 10 world map...and get 8 homeworlds.

Or you could go the way I did, 120 Snake map, Fallen Spire is how I got mine. Back before there was the Intensity options if I recall correctly.

You can find out when that happened. That was when I posted all the Fallen Spire Exo Fleet can't beat the AI promoting some rather nice boosts that let them....

Most of the time.

They still have trouble with Showdown fleets on 9/9...

 Hi power creep, whats up?

But really, what are you expecting out of the golem to need so much buffs? Solo mk4 planet at 9/9 difficulty with all the nasty lobby options? The armored is already excellent when mixed in a fleet, in that case only the %damage enemies are a big threat to it.

Anyway, my personal request would be for a drop down in the controls window to choose the order given to allied enclaves.

No, but close. I want it to be able to take out an unalerted mkIII planet.
Or do a few planets worth of tachyon drilling and then come back, or mop up small incursions/threatballs without dying.

Like I said before, the armored is only good as a main combatant, so it should be really good at that role.

Custmom searches for turret controllers arent working in my game, nothing comes up even when i have full vision on them.

edit: also, would it be possible to have a control option to have ships automatically shoot at ions/OMD?

I just started a new game and it does work. Did you use the "Custom Search (Broad)"
