Seriously? 13 warp counter posts on a single planet?
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

I'm pretty sure someone once said Counterattack Guard Posts can be ignored because it takes so long for the wave to arrive (I don't remember who and I don't rly care either). Post the save file so the one who said that can clear the planet for you NP. Funny stuff.

The AI isn't even retaliatory and it has that many Counterattack Posts. I've never seen anything like that before.. looks like a bug to me.

Do you have alpha enabled?

There is a feature there that was causing 4-5 of these. Maybe you have extreme variant :D

Concerning the Torpedo Frigates:  I didn't think they were that bad in the previous state, I just thought it was a little silly that their torpedos could move through shields :D

I think the Torpedo Frigates still have some promise if we find the right balance, but the NCC would probably need a major overhaul yeah.

There's a subcommander that just gets solid counter posts.  You could try popping one every 3 or 4 minutes ;)

On the bright side, the guard posts in that system won't do much effective shooting at you.

On the LTFs, I'll try something different; if that doesn't work then yea I guess they just have to go.

Can we make LTF's player only and then balance them for humans?

Main imbalance comes from AI side as usual with this kind of units.

It could resemble some AI starships (AI Raid Starships, as opposed to Human Raid Starships) in that the AI could have its own unique version that is a little more manageable to react to while the humans have a version that can be used without heavy micromanagement.

Its a complete subversion of its intended role, but if you can get into ramming range with the lmf the missiles ability to hit  being nerfed doesnt mean much, and the increased punch is greatt as well.
Life is short. Have fun.

Or do what I do. Make sure there is only 1 valid world in range for them to go to, pop every single one then send the Spire fleet to that world to take a small break from the front lines.

Personally, I rather like the LTFs, but I can see if the AI gets them in any real numbers they would be a massive pain. I think making it a human only ship might be the best way to deal with that. Or at least an AI version that is balanced like the AI raid starship.

Why should LFTs have special treatment?

Because if they don't work in an enjoyable state in the current or previous forms, they either need to be removed or readjusted such that they can work. People seem to like the idea behind the lightning torpedos, I certainly do, and I don't mind them getting special treatment so that they CAN work.
Edit: Worth mentioning: I still like the idea of throwing small ships at them to make them detonate prematurely. That would probably solve all of our problems, and make the ships especially dangerous if you're not paying attention.

Before the change, my enclaves did a somewhat effective job at repulsing the torpedos at long range (10 - 15k). However, it is really not effective in big fights or when the frigates get to optimal range (7k) and nothing can stop the missiles in a knife fight.

Lightnings amplify a problem that the spawn units already have: They scale in effectiveness much more sharply then linearly. Since the lightnings can be shot down, and since.they have brutal aoe, ai volleys of missiles cannot be stopped effectively and they deal so much damage in volleys.they simply wipe fleets easily. Combine this with a.not frail mothership whose counter cannot get into range without.being hit and you have a ruinous ai unit.
Life is short. Have fun.
