Its amazing how in the space between two expansions I go from not using starships at all to having my early game be primarily starships.
Life is short. Have fun.

Don't worry, sometime before 8.0 we'll have you back in Space Dock Land.

(said facetiously, but you never know)

I've just found starships to be so much better than fleetships anyway. Fleetships are great for, say, having big swarm versus big swarm fights. Starships murder big targets, straight-up.

Keith on the foldouts causing AIP on Death it was only if you had the Shark Plot active. And I think it was more than just on the Military ones if I recall. I would test it again but I try NOT dying... Most of the time... Unless I screw up...

Still sad to see it go though. Was an excellent way for the AI to finish off the players in multiplayer mode and had no effect on single player at all. (After all, if your foldouts have died from your HW Command Center dying then you don't need to worry about AIP anyway)

I checked the other foldouts but didn't find the shark flags on them, though maybe I missed something.

I think the HC's own contribution to the shark plot is pretty... decisive :)  Iirc.

Do the fortified command stations get huge bonuses to reinforcements?

I have encountered my first one, and I keep clearing it out, but in 15 minutes it has over a dozen guardians on it again. It has 5 counterattack posts surrounding it, but another alerted world with 5 guard post in the same span only got 4.
Life is short. Have fun.

Keith, I'm seeing some really weird AI behavior when on the attack now. It's described here, with save.

The AI seems like it's unable to decide on one of my planets between attacking and moving on to another planet, and it's switching back and forth between the two. The result is a weird yo-yo like effect where they just move back and forth around the system without doing anything. This can go on for so long that I can bring a fleet from the other side of the map to fight them. (Considering the weak defenses there, a force this strong should just steamroll the system and move on.)

Keith, for allied enclaves, can you put their text commands into their description?

I love them, but it really is a pain trying to remember them, and I'm sure many don't know about them at all.
Life is short. Have fun.

Actually, could we just get a "cmd:help" that would list everything?

Lightning torpedo frigates snowball veeerrryyyy quickly, and can wipe fleets out very quickly once reaching critical mass. If you thought bombards were bad, you've seen nothing yet. The AI has no problem with sending them to brawling distance so you can't really intercept their missiles.

The AI needs to pay much more to use them in order to balance this, or the ship needs re adjusted that if pushed into a melee it is destroyed quickly.
Life is short. Have fun.

Do you happen to have pictures of this result? It sounds amusing.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Will dig one up.

Here is a save of the problems of lightning frigates.
