Ah, I'd thought it had something to do with the champion modules or something.

I'm experiencing the following bug: exiting to desktop from the in-campaign causes a freeze (ctrl-alt-delete gets you out, so it shouldn't fry anyone's computer).

Anyone else?

If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Just tried it myself from my steam copy, but nothing out of the ordinary happened.  I suppose I should clarify that freezing would be out of the ordinary ;)

Hmm. I'm definitely getting it consistently. I have a directly-installed copy; could that make a difference?

Further observation reveals that the computer doesn't freeze everything, just the moniter image.

Anyway, not a super big deal.

Spire Implosion Guardian:  Health from 800k*mk => 2M*mk
 Range from 7000+1000*mk => 30k.
 Seconds per salvo from 1 => 4.
 Shots per salvo from 1 => 4.
 Damage per shot from 0.25%/0.5%/1%/2%/4% => 1%/2%/3%/4%/5%.
Did you really mean to make Implosion Guardians better than Spirecraft Implosion Artillery in every way?
More health, better range, more damage, and equal-or-better shot rate.

Why not? They're Guardians, after all.

Spirecraft are superweapons?
Fleet < Guardians < SS < Spirecraft < Golems  ???

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

Implosion weapons aren't as impressive as they seem, especially in the hands of the AI (we only have so many targets Implosions are good against).  Of course, the SC Implosion Artillery are probably too weak as well.

Good changes Keith. I'm liking the idea of Guardians taking a more active/noticeable role in the game. I also like how each game they are more varied so you know...actually notice them :D

That AIP unlock points could go up a bit.
Just to keep that unique types of guardians around.

The unlock points for which? The guardians, or the bonus ships? Or both?

For the guardians.
Looking at the release notes every 50 AIP looks to frequent. It's 2-3 planets depending on other stuff between.
Do it like with ship unlocks every 100 AIP.

As for the ship unlocks... this might be unfortunate since some ships when unlocked by AI mean resigning from game for some of us. Now there will be twice that many chances for this ;)

Looking at the release notes:
Quote
At 50 total AIP and every 100 AIP thereafter (so 50/150/250/etc) it will unlock an additional guardian type, similar to how it unlocks additional bonus ship types for the AI.

So it starts at 50, but it's every 100 after that :)

I can reproduce it by doing the following.

Nearing End game (Spire fleet of 1000+ ships, 90+ planets taken), save the game then quit.

The game freezes, but after a while it cleans up and exits, so I am sure that the game is busy doing saving stuff in the background as the save files are large at that point.

The guardian rebalance is making things... interesting in a game I had considered doing an AAR, but decided in the end not to, due to lack of competence and inability to recognize a changed equation and adapt until after about two hours.

A total of 7 Zombie Guardians and Lightning Guardians make nice work of my fleet, and laugh at me whenever I consider using Etherjet Tractors. Meanwhile, the other AI has a distinct liking for Raider, Spider, and Sniper Guardians. When three spider guardians are damaging the engines of sixty ships every four seconds, it... changes things for your fleetships. When three Sniper Guardians are shooting things, Cloaker Starships or Mobile Spacedocks or Scout Starships become kind of important.

I had thought about beating a game on 7/7, then switching to 8/8... but any difficulty that doubles the number of guardians and I might actually have to actually... have a plan.

Edit: In hindsight, I'm really glad I didn't replace the Starfleet Commander (Snipers & Spiders) with a Gravity Drill like I was thinking.
