EDIT: Reading the more detailed patch notes though, all should hopefully be OK if the hamsters work as they are supposed to :)
Yes, they should actually be far more efficient in turns of "turning the conversion on" when it's needed, and off when it isn't, so that you aren't wasting time waiting for it to spin up or wasting resources waiting for it to spin down (you could avoid those transition times by manually powering the manufactories up or down... but why have the micro?)

It was a play on "Foehammer".

If I needed something heavier, I guess I'd have to see if there's a Nerf Foamton Lance.

I didn't catch the reference because I'm really bad at references. I was playing on the word 'core' being used as the highest possible level of something. That said I totally support the use of a Nerf Foamton Lance.

No, but the Hunter Nerfer Mk. V and the Mothernerf are still around for balance emergencies. :D

What happens if the Spire are gone to plaid first, though?

Well... I guess we would know that they overshot the target by several lightyears and Rick Moranis is probably taking 5.  Smoke'em if you got'em.

Umm, that is the behavior I would expect, according to the patch notes the change to carriers just removed their Nuclear Explosion immunity, it did nothing to the "spawn contents on death" logic so killing the Carrier with a nuke is effectively the same as killing it via fire from your fleet.

The last time I faced a flood of carriers I ran into this using Lighting Warhead spam. Was quite a surprise to pop 6 carriers and get a Golem to the face.
