Though I did resolve the situation somewhat more diplomatically (7 lightnings).

That still leaves the nuke as pointless.

As far as I am aware, all 'transport' type units eject their contents upon death.

I've never tried the setups being talked about in the thread though so maybe there is some odd outlier going on here.

So if a transport carrying a fighter and a flagship was nuked, the transport and fighter would die, but the flagship would survive?

Oh, if this is the case, then yes, Carriers should follow the same logic. Carriers are supposed to mimic transports in many ways after all.

Keith, any chance of making the AI a little less fill carrier happy when you have forces on a planet? I don't have good saves for it, but often I will fly my fallen spire fleet in, shoot at the Special forces poping several Carriers, and the AI response is to put every ship right back into a Carrier on the same planet until I am facing nothing but MKV guardians as it can't condense it anymore. And very often they will just hop back in a carrier after I killed just a few of them.

Oh your poor CPU.

Yea, I can try to make units ineligible for carrier deployment if they were just recently created (including deployed-from-carrier) or recently took damage.

If I try to key it off human forces on a planet that can get tricky with cases we wouldn't anticipate where it'd basically just shut down carrier formation altogether.
