I made a thread or post about it some weeks ago, about new years eve. Basicly, it comes down to the fact () that all the things you can get as nebula rewards are largely imbalanced with the way AI war is played and is not balanced. Like where its "hard" to defend yourself early on or attack early on, just getting 13 dyson gattlings makes every battle a piece of cake until mid/late.
So to say, most stuff added by AS is not balanced with the the other expansions at all.
Id rather play with AS / nebulas disabled, because its really that bad if you know how the game played our before AS.

Ok, and was there agreement among other players about what should be done?

FWIW, yes, there is more balance work coming on the champion feature in general.  But please understand that I'm not going to make drastic changes based on the say-so of one or two players.

Back then the discussion focused mostly around the teuthida and strategic reserves. Now, considering you altered the teuthida and the fact that it needed alteration spawned from me posting it (noone else posted about it being mostly imbalanced at that point)  you might consider taking a look at the gatlings (at the very least) too. I think its rather obvious (insane range, dps, rof, they can repel most waves on their own w/ grav turrets or kiting and can raid like a king. 400k dmg ?)
it was from here

I'm rather certain if you dont alter their stats in the near future, you will alter them in the not so distant future because the issue WILL come up. Its just the question of wether its the dysons that the get the nerfstick or if the whole of AS asks for a rework in my eyes.
thanks for your time.

The dysons are fine:
1}You can only reliably get 15 or so.
2}They are irreplaceable.
3}Winning early battles is not a big deal, as you're supposed to survive early, barring mistakes.
4}Even fifty of the things die in a hurry when you catch the AI in a bad mood.

AS as a whole needs some polishing, but is largely balanced.

If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Well said. Since the dyson's are not replacable and you cannot get enough to reliabily take down even a single AI HW, their impact is limited. In general, the times you need them most are intense enough they start dieing, and when they are not dying, other forces could have handled it without too much trouble as well.
Life is short. Have fun.

My memory may be faulty, but I believe it had been brought up before then, but a detailed look had not really been taken.  My changes there were based on Diazo's feedback later on, but thank you for weighing in as well.

Well, as you can see by the following two posts, it's not just a matter where you're the only one bringing it up (fwiw, you're not the only one to suggest the gatlings could be OP), but there are experienced players who actively disagree with you.  I'm sure you can see that my simply taking your word for it, however emphatically you may state your case, isn't the solution.

Personally I have no objection to nerfing them, or to buffing them, or whatever sounds reasonable.  Most balance changes are quick and easy.  But first I need to see some kind of consensus or other good reason to do so :)

I didn't say they take on homeworlds by themselves. I said it messes up the early and midgame.

[No 20% ai bonus with champs]

I'm salivating. You can make those offensive nemesis hurt and it will still be better.

Am I an enabler?

;)

The offensive nemesis stuff may feel a little tame at first, but I didn't want them just hammering everyone flat out of the gate.  And I may be wrong about them being tame, as a single threatfleet nemesis frigate is like a cap and a half of firepower tossed wherever the AI thinks it's most likely to hurt you.

Anyway, planning to release 6.011 in the morning, so I'll be online in case anything goes horrid (more than usual).
