The splash has always worked against the home forcefield. It is just that home command and the little AIP structures are immune. This means the AI can still take out your construction facilities or energy stuff with seige damage.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Why Plasmasiege Starships splash damage vs FFs damages Home Command Station now? Intentional or bug?

Didn't it always do that? This is one of the reasons why plasma seiges are so scary, forcefields can sometimes become a liability when facing them. Then again, without that FF, the other ship types now get free reign over what would of been under it. It's a lose/lose situation. ;) (in all fairness though, you can force the exact same situation on the AI, but their command stations are immune to the "splash damage", probably due to the severe implications of taking out an AI command station)

One of the reasons why I suggested to introduce a new alternate mechanic for damage absorption/redirection.

It absolutely should NOT be damaging the Command Station.  I can't recall if that applies to other human CS or not, but it is certainly the case for the home.

Of course.  Derp.

Anyway, I transferred out of CS (to digital media arts and design) when they hit me with VHDL (and linear algebra*).
One, I don't give a **** about how the CPU is constructed.
Two, VHDL is awful.

*I've met one person who got anything less than an A that wasn't an F in that course.  People either look at me funny and say "I understand it just fine" or they clap me on the shoulder and say "yeah, I didn't understand it either.  That's why I'm now [insert other major]"

(mod edit: profanity policy.  And knowing how the ALU works at the physical level is awesome, you're missing out)

We only had Verilog but since I dealt with the BOS scripts used in Spring before that (which require thinking in frames and multithreading) it was basically just adding more parallelism.

Never used any of that.

I noticed this for a few patches.  I wonder if the change was accidentally reversed or never took.  I also don't remember if the +AIP human structures were supposed to be immune or not.

I typically throw everything with a gun at Plasma Siege Starships.  And I order those that don't to engage ramming speed  ;D
My other bonus ship is a TARDIS.

I like the new Steam Game Grid artwork. Not sure when that was added but I like it.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Raid eyes arent supposed to trigger raids on single enemy ships, right? their text tseems to say the same 2:1 human:ai, but my single champion seems to trigger 4 or 5 of them on its own.

Just curious, does that include the modules?

Maybe the modules count as individual ships in terms of counting.

iirc it does include modules, but the number was so little it was not the issue at all.

I felt like instead of adding new eye types, keith just added raid engines instead of eyes to random systems.

I actually thought it was based on firepower. If champions indeed have stupidly high firepower, they could easily outnumber an AI planet on their own.

If it was based on firepower, hundreds of ships could be released later game when the champ is stronger and the eye would completely make raiding with starships pointless and it would be unique among other eyes. I don't think it is based on firepower.

It includes the Champ, its modules and drones if you have them. It isn't hard for a champ (esp. cruisers or battleships) to trigger an eye.

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

It isnt hard.. if you are TRYING to.

If I am cruising along minding my own business (well, 7 jump deep into ai land), and I trigger 4 different raid engi.. eyes on planets I am not even on.. Let alone have an overwhelming majority of units on. Like. Seriously. These planets were completely untouched, with ships. SHIPS.
