AI War: Ancient Shadows Includes Almost 100 Minutes Of Music!

Reminder: AI War: Ancient Shadows is going to come out of beta and arrive on Steam on October 19th!  You can currently preorder and get in on the beta at the above link if you wish.  All of the features are now in place for it, and we're just going through final polishing.

Well, except for the music -- we never release the music for an expansion until it comes out of beta.  Makes it all that much more exciting, we think. Speaking of music...

Previously, we simply said that AI War: Ancient Shadows would include "a lot" of music.  Internally we were actually shooting for 90 minutes of music, which is almost double what any of our other expansions for AI War have ever had.  We didn't say that publicly since we weren't sure that we could pull it off in such a crazy short time period -- that was certainly asking a lot of our composer!

But Pablo, true to form, not only met the goal but came in with 98 minutes and 5 seconds of music in all.  Here's the full track list:

That's up to Pablo, as he has all the OST rights for all his music (I don't have any interest in retaining that outside the realm of games itself).  However, I hear that in a few weeks it's heading to BandCamp.

BandCamp works for me. Ever since I actually did some reading on it and iTunes, been preferring musicians put their stuff up on BandCamp rather than iTunes. I had no idea iTunes charged you to have stuff posted on their store...

Yeah, it was so expensive that Pablo had to take most of his soundtracks off there.  They were selling, but not enormously, and the iTunes fees were more than they were selling!  They charge by the track I believe, which makes large soundtracks pricey.

I can't imagine how fees can be more than what the artist is making. That seems really scammy to me. But this is Apple we're talking about so....yeah....

I think that Ironclad and A War Worth Fighting are my favorites now, the other two are great but these are amazing.

Eh I don't like Ironclad that much (I don't like heavy music in general)...but Worshipped Wasteland is beautiful...first 2 tracks are also good!

Is there any possibility to get sheet music for some tracks? Midnight starfields is my particular favorite,but many are beautiful pieces.

I am very happy acren puts so much new music into its expansions.

For the greatest of vets whose played 100's of hours may turn it off most of the time, but that's because we know every track by hurt.

By having so much new music with each expansion it really reinforces that its "BAM! WHAM! NEW! BE AMAZED! FIGHT HARDER! REFLECT THEN MOURN! STOP MOURNING, FIGHT AGAIN!" on a whole new dimension. The fact the music covers so many emotions yet fits with the previous music is golden.

AI War music is something pretty special. There's a wide spectrum of emotion that it shows while also being very high quality stuff. I just don't have anything else to say, so I'll uhm... I don't even know. Brb listening to AI War musics. Loving Worshipped Wasteland, but I've mostly avoided music (Only have listened to this and A War Worth Fighting). Maybe I'll be surprised with more awesome when the games begin on the nineteenth.
