That core ship is just the mkV vampire.  Long ago various mkV ships had special names (raptor = predator, etc).

On the mil station thing, sure, I can make it knock them 2000 units out of range if that will make it better.  Will also re-apply the caps since it doesn't look like we'd be able to get the command stations in general balanced with that the way it is by 6.0.

Unfortunatelly the new mil station is quite bad. It keeps shooting the same targets over and over again. It needs to shoot 1 shit once and pick a new target. Don't need to do that 200 engine damage 15 times on 1 ship.

That would fix Military stations in my mind.

Also, any plans for logistics station adjustments before 6.0?

Not for 6.0.  Upgrading them is not as generally useful as I'd like and I have an idea on how to fix that but we're really in the short rows here and I'm somewhat surprised at the amount of bugs the recent changes have caused so I'm trying to minimize further examples of that.

I was thinking that you'd end up with this ring of ships with complete ED sitting at a range the CC couldn't hit and pounding away at it... and then realized that those ships would have hung at basically max range anyway.  Though it could play havoc with the range to forcefield.  Just a brainstorm I had in regards to these changes, I haven't used them directly yet, XCom has eaten my soul.

A little disappointing, but understandable. The risk of a change like that introducing more annoyances (bugs, balance oversights, etc) than benefits is too large, especially since there is a strong chance of there not being enough time to the release in order to be sure to fix any sorts of annoyances.

Plus, even with a buff in "pushback range" the military command stations will no longer be able to send ships to the other side of the planet (in return for consistency, a fair trade), so placing my logistics station on the clear other side of the planet from where the wormholes are is now a more appealing strategy comparatively.

He'll just hang a giant plate-glass window around the entire atmosphere, and all the UFOs will not notice and smash into it.

I'm seeing exploits already, yes, but they're odd.  Random example... I was trying to get the last guy of a unit killed off, he was an assault.  The entire team had basically died off to a blocked missile shot and a heavy plasma barrage.  I was constantly charging into the middle of 4 mutons, a berzerker, and 3 heavy floaters, and none of them would SHOOT at him.  If I can figure out why that'll be one way of really abusing the system.  It may simply have been that the AI's rather stupid on Normal, though.

We'll see what happens.  The primary block you'll have on impossible is the panic levels of the nations and the forced decisions for abduction missions, countered by your lack of funding to be able to scan and defend most of the member nations.  I want to get through the enemy staging however (each of the major missions will up the enemy difficulty) before I bring it back up to classic.  Get an idea of what stages trigger what and where I need to be tech-wise for each stage.

.... errrr. sorry, derailing.  I'll take it over to the other thread. :)

I'm not sure what in particular is more disturbing about that... that the game is about destroying a space faring ant hive or that the weapon of choice is a rocket launcher for dealing with the mooks...  Although I love the idea of him carrying around 332 bazooka shells.  That's just hysterical.

"Hey, Mo, that little guy on the ground is moving left, turn the ammo truck again!"
"Bob!  Chuck the little guy more shells!  He's reloading!" *two rocket fly ahead of the truck and land next to the little guy.
"Hey, Mo?  Why don't WE have rocket launchers while we load his ass into the back of the dumptruck?"
Mo: "Klingon honor."
"Oh, right."

Atm military station is like a MarkI Ion Cannon shooting at MarkV ships. That change alone would make it MarkV IC.
