Edit: Cryo pods/home settlements are not immune to firefly AoE. This is extravagently annoying (for the same reason it was when attacked by plasma siege starships).
Oops ;)

Edit2: Youngling fireflies are ridiculously powerful (20mkIIs of them= dead fightersI-II+bombersI).
Did you kill them quickly (i.e. this was just their base aoe strength) or did they get a lot of shots off before they died (i.e. they got to charge up a lot)?

I had my entire fleet shooting them immediately. They (my ships) still died. Horribly.

About ten fireflies died fairly quickly (beta strike), but the others got shots off.

The other younglings in the wave, and the mkII Spire and Zenith Starships certainly helped, but it was mostly the fireflies.

If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Guess I'd better ratchet back the explosion power, then ;)

That would be the implication.

I don't know about that; my experience using them offensively has been mixed.  They seem kind of like an alternate awesAuto-bomb.  Except... Minor Electric, Why?   :(

Saboteurs, though... When you use a group of them to kill most of a wave of Zenith Mirrors, then it gets fun.

Largely as a penalty to help balance the fairly insane firepower you can get when they're fully charged.  The explosion is major-electric, so it should punch through to hit stuff immune to minor-electric; or does it not?

Yea, the mirrors having 10x as much health as they should and taking 10x damage... Saboteurs hard-counter them in fairly devastating ways.  Though, iirc, the overload-nanites don't actually apply their overload debuff when reflected (similar for most other special shots; in theory part of the siege-engine-shot's special features would be reflected).

Just curious Keith, do the fireflys have limited aoe effect?

Yes, I think their description mentions that they can only hit 20 ships with their burst.

I'm using fireflies right now. Been playing for a few hours. I can't tell when they have a charge buildup or what they are worth. Any chance of some kind of feedback?

Also, any chance of getting resource nodes to auto rebuild? I have to do planet checks every few minutes after I get harassed.

resource collectors do autorebuild nowadays.. The problem is when the enemy has cloaked units afking on your planets.
