Ha, I haven't yet. I'm sort of afraid of those hard AI types.

...also, I might have been thinking of the possibility of Mark 3 Nuclear Eyes. :o
THAT would be the Lazy Eye! The AI would just press a BIG Red button and blow up the doomsday weapon! Game over! Incredibly lazy indeed!

If the Avengers are disabled for both AIs the player could just win the game as soon as the game starts. That would make as much sense as not having to destroy the Avengers to win the game.

Odd, I thought you had to kill them to win.

That, too, needs to be added. Or while it is alive it makes the second, surviving hw alive from the moment it is spawned.

Actually on a serious note, EMP/Raider Guardian Eye types would be cool. Perhaps spawning the appropriate guardian type hostile on adjacent worlds (or otherwise whatever logic is best places so that they aren't immediate cannon fodder for the invading force).

Swallower Eye, maybe? Swallows both starships and fleet ships, when full, releases them as AI ships.

Make it more interesting then just grab and attriction.

I dumped the data files and the wiki updates are confirmed through 5.049 for the reference pages.

Thanks for the help with it, most changes were already in, I'll double check 5.050 and 5.051 tomorrow.

A nuke eye could start a very obvious countdown timer when you pass the numbers threshold, and stop the timer when you leave the system or get under the ship number. Then you can either try to overwhelm and kill it REALLY quickly, or risk nuking the world. For extra fun, allow optional mk2 or 3 nuke eyes. :D

Maybe a Raid Eye, the Raid Engine's smaller cousin. Works the same as an Engine but with the requirements of an Eye.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Whoa, been away for a while. This sounds like a nice change. I also heartily approve the change on the Botnet Golem and AI Eyes. Kudos.

Btw, you guys should work on a new tutorial some time. Anyone I've known who's ever played it has been left confused and many didn't get through it. Just have it tell the hotkeys B,D,S and the different things that there are in detail. And then have it instruct them through scouting and especially that AI Eye, it always confuses people.
I think the rest of it people will pick up just by playing the game but those would be the basics for the tutorial.

I'm hoping that there will be a visual change in how Eyes look as well, even if it's just a color shift. I'm already kinda bugged by the fact that hybrid facilities (and subspace signals) are all represented by the same apparent denomination of Space Coin!
