Early Spec Forces buildup

Keith,

I'm not sure if this should be considered a bug or a balance issue, so hopefully you can take a look at the attached save and figure out why this is occurring.

In the opening moments of this game, I spawned on Ceasar with Eyebots to try for an alternate attack path at the Peacemaker.  However, you'll notice I've dropped a picket on Broken Ridge.  This is where the concern is; I've got a massive threatball growing from Special Forces units before the first wave even fires up.  Let it run for an additional 3-4 minutes and you'll see just what all those Mini-Rams can do.

Now, I have to assume I'm on a Spec Force highway of some kind but this seems a little much for the opening salvo.  Do I just consider this an unlucky spawn and move on or do you (or others, of course) see a way of balancing this off a tad?  I'm going to goof around with it and see if I can't defend from it, but it's probably a dead seed.
... and then we'll have cake.

For those curious, the trick is to power-down the eye-bots and shove them into the other system, forcing the threatball to move long before the wave hits so you can recover.  Then you can handle the 200 or so spec forces threatballed on all 3 wormholes without having to do it at the same time as a wave.

... which only gets you so far when the next wave arrives...

Hmm, I recently buffed the central command station pulse of reinforcements, but that wouldn't impact guard posts (including special forces).

Will take a look at the save when I get a chance :)

But in general I suspect it's been the case for a long time that certain positions could lead to you being on the special-forces-highway in a particularly unhealthy way.  Iirc there have been multiple reports of that over the years, at least.  Of course, there've also been reports of "special forces ships are idiots and don't wait with the threatball and die piecemeal", so I dunno.
Have ideas or bug reports for one of our games? Mantis for Suggestions and Bug Reports. Thanks for helping to make our games better!

Okie doke.  Just wanted to make sure the volume wasn't unreasonable or odd due to the new changes.  It's taken a little trickery but I've been able to spread the pain out (and two lighter waves just hit instead of the 100 shippers) and survive with some heavy turretry.

Note to self: Find that damned SF post and KEEL HAUL it.
