I would fully support giving all force fields a minimum size (maybe a percentage of their full HP size). If nothing else, this would be great for armored force fields, and also Spirecraft Shield Bearers too.
There is also a suggestion on mantis to make the HP to forcefield radius a non-linear relationship for armored forcefields, where it would shrink less per HP lost compared to normal forcefields for high HP remaining, but shrink faster per HP lost compared to normal forcefields for low HP remaining, so they can still shrink down to maintain survivability.

Are the H/K's now eligible part of the AI  homee world defense group? I ask because it is the only way I can conceive of finding more then a MK III on single player...but I really want to see a MK V tear through a galaxy.

EDIT: First exo after a newly updated in progress co op game...and there is an MK III. Sweet!

Yes, defense groups are just exos, really, and all exos use the same rules for eligibility and costs.

Smallish question:

Are exo waves from speed racer AI supposed to be speed boosted to insane speeds?

Any normal speed boost should apply, yes.  Are you seeing it speed boost beyond what the speed racer normally gets?

I'm not sure what is considered normal speed boost for speed racer - but some exos had 105 speed on planet with logistics command station.

That's what I'd expect from a speed racer (sets ship speed to 100 if lower than that) with an exo (other than lead ships get +5 the lead ship speed) led by a ship immune to gravity (and thus all speed-halver effects, like the log station).

Good to know.

I'm quite close to ditching this game anyway - attack and speed boosted spire mini rams prove to be spire-ending. And losing spire ships every few seconds after you enter planet... is not exactly economy friendly.

Hey, at least Sir Isaac Newton is playing with the gloves on as far as kinetic weapons in this game, or that speed boost would be giving you even more to worry about ;)

That's a pretty terrifying thought.  So is an exo wave in general charging through at 105.  I'm not really sure I'm comfortable with that.  I think I'll just be happy that's never happened to me and pretend I never heard about it.

Fun stuff. So far in the co-op game I am in we have put down 4 hks. Yeah me and chemical loaded the co-op and bam there was the hk3. Which ran through several systems before a spire battle group duked it out with it and won. Then a little while later 3 hk1s charged our lines and died gloriously. That wave also was ether followed/before one with 5 different golems attacking.. Fun fun. :)

Cool :)  How are the stats on them feeling?  I did halve their dps from their previous incarnation, but doubled their health.  Seemed like a decent first guess, based on how badly a previous-stats mkI was shredding my spire city/fleet defenses in my tests.  But even now a MkIII has 1.5 times what a previous MkI had in dps, so that must have been a bit intense.

The idea of a version of AI War with Newtonian physics on all the ships and projectiles has just made me go cross-eyed.

It'd probably look like a dwarven ice skating rink.
