It's not beta as in "untested and may or may not work or set your computer on fire"
Well, it might, actually, but not after a couple of days when the guinea pigs early adopters have taken a crack at it ;)  If anyone's computer catches on fire we fix the bug that caused it pretty quick ;)

We always called those kinds of bugs "green smoke" at my last job.  As in, "if the server starts emitting green smoke." ;)

In all seriousness though, generally speaking, total balance breakers usually get fixed within a week. Total game breakers (as in, makes the game unplayable) usually gets fixed within a few hours or at most a day. (I remember that time Chris pushed out some minor updates on Christmas Eve because there was a few game breakers that accidentally got pushed out the day before. That's dedication! Though I have to wonder what your family thought of that.  :-\)
