And Ion Cannons were never really supposed to be equally useful to humans and AIs ;)  But we can make them more useful for humans, at least.

I seem to recall reading somewhere you guys where thinking of Ions doing partial damage to higher mark ships.  So Mark I Ion would do 50% damage to Mark II, 33% to Mark II, 25% to Mark IV, and 20% to Mark V (or something similar).  Is that the general direction of the future change?

Since the hardened forcefields do no shrink, would it be possible to have them change color depending on how much health they have left in order to make it easy to glance at them to see how much health they have left? For example, when they are below 50% health they turn yellow, below 20% health they turn red. I imagine this may show up weird if you have multiple forcefields stacked. Would something like this be possible?

It would be in the realm of feasibility, but I think it wouldn't look very pleasing or very clear.  There is a health bar on the forcefields, but maybe we need to make the forcefield health bars oversized or something, so they are easier to see.  Hmm.

It might work out well to make FF health bars enlarge only when taking damage.  This would mean if you had stacked FF and inner fields weren't taking damage yet, their health bars would remain normal size.

Knowing the trader though, the deals will be anything but reasonable. Probably like 20x the cost for something only 3x as good as your normally available tools. :P

<sarcasm>Hey, The zenith trader ought to supple forcefields that instantly kill any zombie ships that move into it's radius, but is rather fragile. </sarcasm>

Yes indeed, that was the salesman's description ;)

They can even throw in zombie-bite insurance, for only a phenomenal fee!

Cool, forcefields have armor now! Am interested on how these preform ingame..

Neat! I like the force field changes, but not tested it yet. Gonna try it now :)

so if the enemy is under my forcefield, will ships and turrets shooting at them from outside the FF have their damage penalized like if you were under the shield and shooting??
