It's feasible Raid Starships might need a moderate speed increase now - but I've not come to any concrete conclusions, personally.

Have I imagined it or has anyone else noticed a definite drop in usefulness for Raid starships? I tended to use them for neutralising warp gates, AI Eyes and Command Stations without having to mobilise my whole fleet, but they haven't been nearly as reliable lately (perhaps the speed reduction on AI worlds has affected them more than I thought it would?) - and on top of that, in order to take out the AI Eyes now, I essentially need to mobilise my entire fleet (well, up to the limit of ships that I can bring in without setting off the eye) to take out the other guard posts (though they seem to get slaughtered all often)

Wall of text, argh!

tl;dr, I need to learn how to play the game again

Ha, ha. That's nothing. You should see how long some of my posts get sometimes.

But of course -- I'm sure your students will be grateful.  Well, I seem to recall you said high school, so maybe not. ;)  But nonetheless, important. :)

Oh good lord no, college! I have nothing but sympathy and respect for high school teachers...

Indeed!

Military Command Stations are definitely worth using now, thank you!  Translocation was a brilliant idea - there's a problem with the shots being kind of slow, so there's a lot of wasted ammunition floating around out there, but the station being able to break up enemy assaults like that and provide munitions boosting is amazing.  Mk3 military command stations are totally on the top of my "researches I must have" for the early game now.

Haha, the last time I tried the defender mode it was way too easy (as in not implemented properly yet), now I got 3500 enemy ships arriving at the three minute mark!  ;D

Two questions about that colony ship change. #1, does it affect colony ships in transports? If not, it's easy to get around. #2, what's to prevent the player from scrapping the command station just before it's destroyed to prevent losing colony ships?

Yes, it affects them in transports.  As to the scrapping thing... nothing prevents them from doing that, at present.  Shhh don't tell.  ;)

That will have to be dealt with, of course, but for now it's lower on my list.

Actually, I remembered, because I had to specifically code it in to avoid killing them when the command station was scrapped.  I figured that would be too annoying.  But I didn't think of scrapping right before death, that's true.

Considering the fact that you can replace command station now I think you can leave colony ships and builders dying when command station gets scrapped. It would need a fair warning probably when trying to scrap it.

Given the colony ship replace of existing command station method, I think allowing them to die on scrapping would be fine.

Good point, I'd forgotten about that.
