I am just wondering do Ai eye's still have "Warp gate" ability.

agreed, especially now it is semi-indestructable it would be nice if warpgating was restricted to warpgates

Yep, they still have it. All you have to do is neuter the planet, and the eye dies. No sip increase even required. Just kill the non-wormhole guard posts.
I think it's perfect now that the eyes are harder to kill AND have warp gate, this means the enemies now at times have these superboosted warpgates that are not trivial to raid -> more choices and planning regarding what planets to take since gate raiding is not always trivial.

Yup, exactly as I planned it.

 ;)

I'd like to see this new "Antimatter Bomb" type ammunition. I love Zenith Bombards, but now they seem to not fire on some important stuff - although with the Guardians and Siege Starship range nerf, their lost abilities might shine in taking off other ships without getting hit much.

Conceptually, at least, I quite like that change. It makes them a real threat, but a rare one, and even if you don't intend to take the world in question the warp gate ability gives you good incentive to de-eye it. Now if I can just find some time to play again, I've completely missed the last few updates (and so haven't been able to give you scout or memory problem feedback, sorry about that).

Military Orbital Command Stations all now have translocation lightning as their attack type instead of missiles.

Would this explain it? :)

Yes. Yes it would. You win.

Thanks, should have looked more carefully.

You're entirely welcome. Believe me, I'd rather be playing AI War than doing new class preps for this semester, but duty calls. :)

But of course -- I'm sure your students will be grateful.  Well, I seem to recall you said high school, so maybe not. ;)  But nonetheless, important. :)

So i just randomly generated a few maps and almost 1:2 planets have an eye. Furthermore this seems to scale with the number of players.

Also if we need to kill all the guardposts to make the eyes die, how do you propose we will the shield guard posts which have ~500 million health at mark 3?

FF guard post has 400m HP aswell. And going after them with bombers is not fun. Also, for eye, bringing something else with bombers to get rid of AI ships or provide assistance to bombers in the system is not a good idea, since AI Eye will start popping enemies. etc...

Also what can we do against when a guard post is under a shield?

*EDIT* Eyes are too imbalanced, it makes actually killing them off extremely tedious, also they are seeded wayyyyyy to often.

You do know that killing an EYE involves killing guard posts now, right? Shooting the 400 million HP EYE is just futile.

When a guard post is under a shield, you shoot it for a looooong time. And bear in mind, unless you're playing a save from before the change, that eyes are going to be seeded much less frequently now. In a post-patch game last night I had to take down a planet with an eye and several guard posts under force fields. It wasn't too terrible, it just took a while. Of course this was also made easier by the fact that the ships have new force field behavior that keeps them from doing anything until they're out from under the force field. So I didn't actually have to deal with the eye ships until I wanted to.

Have I imagined it or has anyone else noticed a definite drop in usefulness for Raid starships? I tended to use them for neutralising warp gates, AI Eyes and Command Stations without having to mobilise my whole fleet, but they haven't been nearly as reliable lately (perhaps the speed reduction on AI worlds has affected them more than I thought it would?) - and on top of that, in order to take out the AI Eyes now, I essentially need to mobilise my entire fleet (well, up to the limit of ships that I can bring in without setting off the eye) to take out the other guard posts (though they seem to get slaughtered all often)

Wall of text, argh!

tl;dr, I need to learn how to play the game again
