I saw the massive changes last night before I went to bed and figured I'd give myself the weekend to do some testing. I did find one anomaly where the Engineers would perpetually power up the Space Dock - even though nothing is in the queue. I can submit that in Mantis with a screenie if that sounds like a new item.
So far, I really like the newly proposed ideas and I'm sure things will get hammered out in time to suit everyone's needs. Like Keith was pointing out last week, there's always a degree of feasibility in having options down the line. I do have a compelling game at the 6 hour mark that I'd like to try to finish...since I'm familiar with the elements in place, it will be easier to see the new changes.
Also...I really like the new list for the planetary attack via tooltip. I was shocked and amazed to see that tackled so soon (with the immense workload you guys have)...and now if I have any doubt at all, I can flip up there really fast and go where I need to be. Awesomesauce. A big thanks for that one...and yet another suggestion to add to that if I don't mind. LOL
I'm finding the white menu text for attack mode to be too....um...elusive to my eyes. Something to slap ya' upside the head is what I'm thinking...and I threw a little graphic up here that I made in Photoshop for a laugh. You can toss the flashing red skull, of course...but I can't stop thinking how cool a red blinking skull would be during a home planet invasion. >
Otherwise...I'm thinking that a change in primary color when you are being attacked...to say red...would be more eye-catching.
Anyway...so far, so good. I'm still on-board with the new changes, but I must do some more testing to squash out those buggleries.
Edit: More diabolical skull* icon thoughts: This icon only comes on during a Home Planet Attack, not regular planets. When your Home Planet is gone, you lose the game...so, it's a fairly critical meltdown situation. Right clicking on the skull* icon makes the warning go away. Left clicking on the icon zooms you into your Home Planet which is under attack. What do you guys think of something like that?
