I know -- but it is a very real risk. With some folks, I think that's what happened with AVWW. Their expectations got so high nothing could ever meet them.

True, but with anything that is revealed so early on it's almost inevitable for it to happen. One can never fully live up to peoples imagination.

Judging by the name Ancient Shadows. I predict it will add a new type of multiplayer - competitive co-op. Not only must you defeat the AI, but only one of you can be considered the winner by combination score of whoever controls the most worlds, and destroys the most AI core shield generators/core homeworld posts.

Note: I know there's absolutely no possibility of this, and I purposely came up with the least likely thing I could think of ;) Though the idea of just barely working together whilest sabotaging each other at the same time would be pretty cool.

That's part of why I'm not biting on the Teaser and running with 'might be', actually.  I'll just enjoy whatever gets here.

Well, I'll just see what the new expansion has to offer. Not that it matters. I've already decided long ago I would buy each and every AI war expansion there will ever be. Even if the expansion would only add a few AI types, that would still get me excited enough to buy it.

We need more game developers like Arcen. Also I just remembered I liked Valley Without Wind beta/demo/whatever it was so I just bought it on Steam!

I'm sure it will be fine. Really, the only way you could turn off your audience is to add social networking.


I'm not sure what you mean there; I mean, polarizers do more damage to high armor, but that's already in the game so I assume you mean something else?

I'm not a big starship guy, but I was thinking a larger ship meant to go after heavy armor. Right now, all we have is the raid starship, and maybe high up on the zenith line. I was hoping modules for the riot starships, unless we are really supposed to be zerging these things. Maybe heavy is not supposed to have a hard counter.

Tidalis was actually pretty good. I didn't like the last two levels of the campaign, but overall it's a lot of fun and the music is better than AI war. It is part of the game's feedback to the player.

The music is absolutely stellar in Tidalis, and I did spend some 10 hours with it. But match-3 and puzzle games just isn't my cuppa, so it didn't stick around like AI War did.
