Vince, none of the AI types are being removed from the game ;)  The blacklist is a file in your game directory named disabledaitypes.txt that you can use to make sure the game doesn't use the types listed.  Later on this will become a UI thing but this gets the feature to the people who wanted it faster.

I don't mind the One Way Doormaster so much, but I tend to play on grid style maps so I don't usually have to take many systems I'm not really interested in.

I played the starship commander AI yesterday though, and it was... not fun.  Most of the smaller Mk 1 and Mk 2 worlds were reasonable, but the higher level worlds were just dumb.  We tried to break a Mk VI world that had no less than 12 spires, an an equal number of zenith starships, and Mk 3 leech starships + dreadnaughts.  On top of 500+ core/Mk VI ships.  I'm not really sure that kind of thing is reasonable to handle, the AI has like 6 times my unit cap in starships on a single world. :(

Yeah, this particular AI type is one that needs some work for sure.

Sixty-four Zeniths and thirty Dreadnaughts was the comical most I've ever seen from a Starfleet Commander on one MkIV world.  Twenty star ships of mixed classifications on all other worlds was about the norm.  No, it's not enjoyable (or even possible due to the reinforcement rate).

I know.  Something happened with this one that caused it to be rather bugged, it's on our list.

I wish I'd taken a screenshot at the time.  It's not something I'm ever likely to see again!  ;)

Five star ships on any one world is trouble enough.
