AI home planet done, still produces units?
« on: February 13, 2010, 10:25:04 pm »
I was playing against 2 ai's by myself, and the game went rather long. The progress meter was at 650 at 15 hours. every planet was being reinforced it seems, and even when I took out one of the home planets, that AI continued to reinforce the other AI's planets!

How do I stop an AI if killing the home planet doesn't work? where are the ships coming from?

The AIs units come from another galaxy via wormholes and warp gates.

(theory-lore) Destroying both home stations severs the AIs ability to network on an intergalactic basis, offlining every local unit.

does that mean for all intents and purposes, playing multiple AI's is a death wish because you have to rack up a huge progress hit by eliminating home planets? meanwhile, there is no way to stop the simultaneous increase in forces? I guess I am confused about what playing more than one AI means, unless it only means that there are multiple core planets with different strategies.

Variety, basically. Yes.

There's supposed to be a huge progress hit from hitting a homeworld- otherwise people would just ninja the core planets.

1. There is no way to play more or less than 2 AIs.

2. No player, on the human or the AI team, is ever "out" early.  Everyone is still alive and kicking until the game is over by one team losing all their home command stations.

Why AI  attacking my planets, even if they do not border with any AI planets, and attacking ships comes not from wormholes, but from clear space.

grab the latest patch if you are running beta versions.
There was an issue with reinforcements sent to destroyed guard posts in systems that you have already freed/overtaken.

You said you do not border any AI planets, so I assume you've destroyed everything on your borders. They'll jump to the nearest planet with a warp gate, and take the normal route to piss you off :P
