(Creature of few words, unless I write thousand-word-essays or dozens of bug reports at a time. :) )

As of today, the contract with Steam is finalized, and I can now actually talk about it.  They'll be carrying AI War 2.0, when that comes out in a few weeks!  This is a major development for Arcen, and will hopefully go a long way toward securing our financial future to the point that we can actually do this fulltime.  Time will tell!

Congrats!

Oh snap! That's going to spike your sales, that's for sure. Oh, and please can you make it so you can register your game through Steam? I hate it when I buy a game, and it comes out on Steam shortly after, and I can't register my key with Steam. No offense to Impulse, but I'd rather have my game through Steam :)

I'm not sure that's something I get to control, but if possible that's certainly what I would prefer, as well.  People should be able to use the platform of their choice, in my opinion.

I want to say "Congrats" but I've "been there" too many times, so I'll just say "how exciting" and save the other bit for after it's online. :) Good work...

This is all seriously so awesome. I couldn't be happier. Chris, everyone has said it, but kudos man, you have put so much into this (while STILL working a full-time job). That's something I wouldn't be able to do.

There are a lot of cool updates coming up, and being directly involved in one, there's some cool new music that's going to come with the release of 2.0, the new trailer, and the expansion pack. More details to come.

Also (shameless plug), if any one lives in North Carolina and is interested in seeing me perform at all, shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] for some details. A really awesome show is coming up.

Any ways, you guys are awesome for making this all happen! Steam is a huge step for everyone involved and we wouldn't have gotten there without your support and continuing interest. Hats off to all the AI fans!

I don't know the exact details, but I do know there is a way for vendors to add CD Keys to Steam. Some games have done it. For example, Unreal Tournament 2008 3 did this when they released on Steam nearly a year later. If you bought a boxed copy from before, you could add your key to Steam and have the game available on your games list, so I know the capability exists.

UT3 isn't an isolated game either.  Here is the complete list of retail games that can be registered to your Steam account: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?s=44ee836fc20dda469f4a545e4470e85f&ref=7480-WUSF-3601
