Every time a "major construction thing" completes a new [CENSORED] appears in one of the Core worlds.
Spoiler warnings please  :)

Doesn't the thread title kinda already tell you that it's gonna be spoilers?

Oh I didn't even think that could be a spoiler. I don't care about spoilers so I didn't even think about it. Also if I didn't explain what happens when a construction project is complete making this thread would have been pointless. Now we found a bug. The Golems are supposed to attack me but they never did. Now Keith can fix it.

Yea, it's not a huge spoiler.  It's not like it spawns a bunch of clowns in a clown car to come steal your microcline :)

I'm not even sure that qualifies as a spoiler any more XD

Fair point; you're quite right.

It's just I'd noticed we don't have the same culture of avoiding spoilers here as at Bay 12.  Though perhaps the difference is due to the games, not the people.

For a few months after Fallen Spire was new I was very careful about spoilers on what happens in it, and generally other folks were too.  Similar with other new cool stuff since then.

But eventually we cross a line from "novelty, let players experience that in the game before they read about it" to "now the players want to know the nuts and bolts so they can crank up the cheese factory" ;)

(of course, in DF, the latter bit would not be metaphorical)

If this were more like Bay12, a newcomer asking about spoilers would probably be answered with intentional misdirection for the amusement of the experienced players.

"AI eyes?" "Oh yeah, send your whole fleet against it, and it will explode!"

"Core Raid Engines?" "Trigger one within the first hour and you automatically win!"

Also, MAGMA.

Magma solves everything. It's an amazing solvent. Really.

To be more in the Bay12 tradition you could tell them to enable cheats and chat "pull the lever".
