About Auto Targeting
« on: October 05, 2014, 03:59:27 am »
Auto targeting doesn't seem to work properly. As you can see in this screenshot Laser Turrets aren't shooting the Carrier.. which they have an attack multiplier for (Heavy). Instead they're shooting the Grenade Launchers and the Bulletproof Fighters.

It's a Mark III Carrier. It has 90 Armor. So a Mark I Laser Turret does 300*3-90=810 damage per shot. Which is much more than when shooting at the other targets. Aka they're not optimizing their DPS as they should.

Non-Sniper Focus-Fire was disabled.

It doesn't seem like you have too many ships in play, but targeting lists don't update instantly. This is the reason saturating the target lists by closing with the ships you want to "tank" all the damage works. They should switch after a short delay. In a fight of that size, I seem to get ~10 seconds of less optimal targeting. If it lasts much longer than that, something may certainly be wrong. I seem to recall that targeting is one of the most complicated systems in AIW.
