Back to the "Threat/AI ships are stuck" thing, here is another report of it that hopefully has a good save in it.

3825: Enemy ships stop moving

Two ideas I think that would be cool:

7211: Ideas for Schizophrenic wave types (make sure to check the comments for more info)
6291: New AI Modifier - Exo Wave Like Wave Composition (still needs better name)

If I remember correctly, the AI voices are done by Chris and his wife (highly modified, of course).

Why did 36 Mark V ships just appear on an AI planet 3 hops away from my home planet? O_o

EDIT: Umm.. "AI 1 Is Deploying Strategic Reserve To Defend (95% Remaining)".. what? This is on a Super Terminal planet and 3 hops from my home planet. Is this supposed to happen on a Super Terminal planet?

Yes, it is.  If you go way back to the original introduction of the Strategic Reserve, you'll see that the SuperTerminal is mentioned a place it will defend.
In my current game, the SuperTerminal is a Mk I planet... but it still gets the Mk V Reserve ships deployed on it.  Unpleasant.

Well crap.. I'll have to go trough that planet A LOT.. that's how the map layout is. Well.. I'll keep that Beachhead there forever I guess.
