Will Not Start Properly

Ok, bought the game on Steam and loved it. I had it working fine on my laptop with Windows Vista 32bit. I "upgraded" to Windows 7 64bit. By upgrade I mean I reformatted my C: partition then installed it. I reinstalled Steam and all my other games work great. Installed AI War via Steam, launched it, Steam acts like it launches but no window pops up. My cursor is locked into a smaller area for about a minute, by that I mean the cursor can't go outside about 1/4 the area of the screen in the center. If I have Task Manager open I can see the AI War process launch and stay open while my cursor is locked and end when my cursor unlocks. I have verified/reinstalled AI War multiple times and I still get this problem. Can anyone help? I really want to play it again.

Get the CD key from Steam, download the game from Arcen Games (http://www.arcengames.com/aiwar_buy.php), and use that CD key from Steam to activate it. Doing this, you should be able to play, and you'll be able to bypass the mandatory Steam upgrades (which I like, because Chris gets out prereleases out every few days).

Yes, I'm not sure what would cause that specifically.  I'd try doing the install off our site just as a workaround for now.  The game definitely does work on Win7 64bit... playing on that as we speak, actually.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Works PERFECTLY.  I'll try and let Steam know about this bug. Maybe they haven't updated to 2.0 yet?

It's definitely the 2.0 version, and you're the first person (out of 10,000+) to report this issue, so I think it was just some sort of fluke.  Hopefully the Steam version now works correctly for you, now that you got the non-Steam version installed?  Glad it's working for you now, in any case!
