Wierd sounds when I move mouse
« on: June 28, 2012, 09:12:40 am »
I didn't notice this until I played AI war with my sound muted.   When I move my mouse IN the game screen (windowed or not) my hard drive makes access sounds (my SSD).  It doesn't do this in any of the other several dozen games on steam I tested out.

Is there any fix to this? Driving me nuts :D

Sound is NOT coming from my speakers, even disconnected them.

EDIT: It does this in a valley without wind too...

Only when I move the mouse inside AI total war, not in other games like d3, civ5, skyrim

Trade changing mouse polling speed to no avail.

Please help, now that I know the sound even  upping the volume I can hear it underneath.

I've heard a similar thing (but MUCH softer) coming from my computer when I do certain operations, typically scrolling. I'm pretty sure this is a sign of my graphics card getting a bit too old for its own good.  ;)

Is not the video cards removed both 580s, swapped, placed independently in either spot, same sound. tried  x o,  ox, x -, - x, o - , - o
